Beginning January 1st, you are able to file your annual rendition form. This is your chance to report your assets as of January 1, 2024. The filing deadline is Monday, April 15, 2024.

Presently, we are enhancing our website for improved user experience. Consequently, the online rendition filing function, previously available, is temporarily inaccessible. As an alternative electronic submission method this year, we are now accepting renditions via the dedicated email address rendition@tad.org. Please ensure the completion of the BPP Rendition Form in PDF format for quicker processing. Include a signature and the relevant account number in its entirety. Each account requires a separate BPP Rendition form.

For those requiring additional time to file, submit an Extension Request Form postmarked by April 15th. You can file via mail, email to rendition@tad.org or by visiting our office. This extension request will extend the rendition filing deadline to Monday, May 15, 2024.

Please note that we do not accept Faxed renditions or extension requests.

If you're applying for any BPP exemptions or applications, kindly mail or hand-deliver the documents to our office. Please refrain from sending these forms via email.

Please avoid waiting until the last minute to file. As April 15th approaches, we'll strive to promptly and thoroughly address your inquiries, although there may be longer wait times.


Important: Failure to file a Rendition or filing late will result in a 10% penalty on your tax bill from the Tarrant County Tax Office.

BPP FAQ

Below are some frequently asked questions concerning Business Personal Property and the requirements involved.

Business Personal Property (BPP) is defined as the tangible assets of a business that are not considered real estate. BPP includes items such as: machinery, equipment, tools, office furnishings, signs, computers, leased equipment, leasehold improvements, inventory/supplies, and vehicles. This list is not inclusive as there are many kinds of BPP.

Per section 22.01 of the Texas Property Tax Code, business owners must render any taxable property that they own or manage and control as a fiduciary as of January 1. The BPP Rendition form is the method in which to report these assets.

This form is due every year by April 15th. If April 15th falls on a weekend, the deadline will be the next business day. The Tarrant Appraisal District can accept a rendition form mailed and postmarked by April 15th or hand-delivered to our office at 2500 Handley Ederville Rd Fort Worth, TX 76118. For the year 2024, a rendition form can also be accepted by emailing rendition@tad.org by April 15th.

Yes. If you need additional time to file, please request a 30-day extension here by April 15th. If April 15th falls on a weekend, the deadline will be the next business day. If you file your rendition after the deadline or fail to file for the year, a 10% rendition penalty will appear on the value notice.

Financial documents such as a balance sheet and a detailed fixed asset listing. A detailed asset listing should include the asset description, original cost, and age of the asset. A fair market value or Good Faith Estimate can also be provided. If you have leased equipment or consigned goods, you will need to have a list identifying the owner's name, address, and a description of the assets. Include this list and/or the lease agreements with your rendition.

Per the Texas Property Tax Code section 22.01, business owners must report any taxable property they own as of January 1, 2024. If the property is leased, include a copy of the lease with your rendition. If you feel the rendition form is not applicable, please call our office. Failure to receive a BPP Rendition does not relieve you of your responsibility to file.
